Benidoleig

Local Information

Benidoleig is a small farming village located at the foot of the Sierra de Seguili.and has steep winding streets with views of the surrounding vineyards and almond groves.

The Calaveras (Skull), cave is the main attraction of the village. Twelve skulls were found in the caves of Benidoleig in 1768. It was determined that they were the skulls of Moors who had died during earlier excavation of the caves. Other remains found in the caves at Benidoleig have been dated back to the Bronze and Neolithic periods.
