El Comtat

The area of El Comtat is only 35 minutes by car from Alicante aiport.  El Comtat is an untouched corner of Spain, just inland of the shores of the Costa Blanca.  El Comtat is unusually green for this part of the Mediterranean and is characterised by wide, rolling valleys of almond and olive goves which are enclosed by pine covered mountains.  Through the valleys and on the hillsides are ancient towns and villages, with forts and castles, remnants of the battles that once took place between the Morrish and Christian settlers.

There is an abundance of leisure and sporting activies, many golf courses within a short distance from Alcoi and the new proposal of golf and sports center near Penaguila.
